Apple Watch band size and compatibility guide
Match your watch model and case size to the band group below, then choose a product variant that explicitly supports your watch. This guide covers band connectors, not cases, screen protectors or chargers: those must match the exact model and size listed on the product page.
| Apple Watch model | Small band group 38 / 40 / 41 / 42 mm |
Large band group 44 / 45 / 46 / 49 mm |
|---|---|---|
| Series 10 | 42 mm case | 46 mm case |
| Series 9, 8 and 7 | 41 mm case | 45 mm case |
| Series 6, 5 and 4 | 40 mm case | 44 mm case |
| SE models listed as 40 / 44 mm | 40 mm case | 44 mm case |
| Series 3, 2 and 1 | 38 mm case | 42 mm case (older large size) |
| Ultra and Ultra 2 | Not applicable | 49 mm case; choose a variant that lists Ultra compatibility |
Important: 42 mm is model-dependent. Series 10 42 mm belongs to the small group; Series 1–3 42 mm belongs to the older large group. Do not choose by the number alone. Check the model and case size on your watch and the product's selected variant.
Choose the correct product variant
The Trail Loop Nylon, xDfind Ocean Silicone and Modern Style Leather bands offer both size-group variants. The Stainless Steel Connector TPU band sampled here lists Ultra 49 mm only. The Two-color Magnetic Silicone band sampled here lists Ultra 2 49 mm and Series 9 45 mm variants. A general size chart does not mean every band is available for every model.
Wrist fit
Case size describes the watch, not your wrist circumference. Measure around your wrist and compare it with the selected band's stated wrist-fit range. Choose S/M, M/L, strap length or adjustable-link options only where that product provides them. A strap length is not automatically a wrist circumference. If a wrist-fit range is not stated, do not assume a universal fit.
For models not listed in this guide, rely on explicit compatibility in the individual product specifications before ordering.
